Kings Lock, Middlewichback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
Had dinner here last Thursday and was very impressed -- not just by the fabulous food (and the prices for it) but the beer. They had 6 local beers (all excellent, we tried them all but Salopian Oracle was my favourite) and 3 real ciders, all in excellent condition. Also very friendly staff -- note that the pub has been under new management since June 2014 and they seem to have transformed both food and drink, so suggest you disregard any reviews before then.
Not a boozer for getting wedged in for the night, but if you want a few really good beers I'd suggest dropping in -- or if you want an excellent (and amazing value for food of this quality -- all mains were less than a tenner) meal, I couldn't recommend it more highly.
I'll certainly be going back next time I get the chance :-)

Handful of people in to hear the 'band' (thought it was karaoke at first). Only Deuchars on handpump and it came up as a pint of froth. Eventually settled but it wasn't anything to crow about when it did.

Now under new management, Simon and his crew are doing a fantastic job at the Kings Lock Middlewich.
Fantastic location situated on the banks of the Trent and Mersey Canal overlooking the "Kings Lock".
Great home made food and a good selection of Ales, Lagers & Ciders.

Sign on the door said 12 noon until 11pm .. but was closed at 3pm

Visited twice when cruising the Cheshire Ring. Excellent Taylors Landlord on our first visit. 2nd (Friday) visit disappointed - no real ale available for 24 hours (barrels still settling) so we left to quench our thirsty crew elsewhere.

A sign outside read Under New Management, which showed, as the staff were trying really hard to please.
Lovely beer garden overlooking Kings Lock, on the Trent and Mersey canal.
We sampled 5 different meals, including Sunday Lunch, and it was quite good.
The pub was let down by selling Greene Kings appalling I.P.A.

Traditional pub by the canal, beer garden by the lockside, Green King IPA on handpump.
