please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Extremely busy pub/hotel/restaurant. Large beer garden with benches to the front. Good selection of real ales but no real cider when we visited. Food was good quality but a little pricey compared to other pubs in the Gower. We would have stayed longer but it started raining and there was no room inside as the place was packed...

If you book a table at this busy pub and don't try to blag a discount on a room you will find the food is excellent and inexpensive, the beer is top class especially the Thos Watkins OSB and the staff friendly and helpful. It's a lovely Welsh country pub, pure and simple!

We were camping not far from here in June and, having been to the King Arthur many times before, set off for an early evening walk to our favourite Gower pub. After a couple of pints, and the it started to rain heavily and, not fancying the walk back to the campsite my wife and I decided to ask about staying the night at the pub:-

Me: "Do you have any spare rooms tonight?"
Barman: " Let me get the Manager"
Manager: "Yes we, only have one room being used this evening"
Me: "Great, what can you do one for? We're supposed to be camping, but fancy settling in here and having some dinner and a cosy room"
Manager: "You have to pay full price"
Me: "Surely you can do something, you only have one resident and we're going to stay for dinner"
Manager: "We don't do discounts"

We left, in the rain. No more drinks bought, no dinner bought - Come on, guys, be a little commercial and you might survive the recession!!!!

It's a nice pub but it's all about food. I went recently at 6.30 on a Tuesday evening. Granted it was in the school hols but was bedlam. There was a line of people standing up in the bar waiting for eaters and drinkers to finish so that they could bag a table. I would find it difficult to relax with a pint with hungry diners breathing down my neck. In the end we sat outside and had something to eat which was OK but nothing special. Would try to avoid at busy periods but there is limited choice in the area.

Lovely restaurant and large comfortable bar attached, serving some good well kept ales.

Emphasis on food, but real ale and an excellent sitting out area
make it worth seeking out.
