Much improved bar service. Gents toilets border on the edge of the civilised world with a smell to go with them. Never any soap in the dispenser.
Food is unquestionably of a very high standard and the 3 handpump beers always have a local ale and are well kept.

Indifferent barmaid who pours short measures and is surly when challenged.
Pub has a deserved high reputation for food but needs to address the frontline. Guest beers vary and have recently included Hophead, Summer Lightning, Goodwood organic bitter - which was excellent, and Bowman's Swift One.
One major beer problem with Emsworth is the virtual domination of Gales/Fullers beers in her 9 pubs, and an indifferent selection of guest beers from other breweries.......

A small pub near to the harbour, had four decent quality real ales on offer which were well kept, a small outside drinking area out the back of the pub which was popular with locals dogs, all friendly enough.

Plenty of historical information on the area inside the pub, and a relaxed atmosphere.

Cracking little pub - really friendly staff, good food and beer, and utterly unpretentious, which is an achievement in a rather pretentious town. Felt welcome as soon as we walked in. Worth a visit for sure.

Friendly local pub with excellent food, fish in beer batter a must try. Beer well kept, limited range of ales

If you like Greene King IPA and the other rubbish beers that go with it, then this is the pub for you. It used to sell London Pride ond other good ales but there was no sign of them on a recent visit. It seems its another good pub that GK has ruined.

My favourite pub in Emsworth. Great service by the bar staff, remembered our drinks the following day after only having one round. It has a cosy friendly atmosphere. Have not eaten in here yet but the menu looks fabulous, made my mouth water just reading it. Looking forward to visiting again soon and having a meal.

I also forgot to mention that there is a notice on the door asking for mobiles to be switched to silent or vibrate and that you will be asked to make a donation to charity if you don't comply and your mobile goes off. So yet another reason to admire this place.

Quite busy for 1130 on a Monday even if it was a Bank Holiday and it's easy to see why.

I asked for a pint of London Pride which the landlord (I think he was the landlord) duly poured but before he even handed it over he commented that it didn't look right and replaced it with a pint of Hopbacks Odyssey. How rare is that? Someone who can see that there is a problem with the beer before it even gets to the tasting stage. Only wish that other pubs would show the same level of professionalism.

All of the staff were friendly and I was asked if I wanted another pint poured before I even finished the first one which I unfortunately had to decline as I wanted to check out some of the other pubs in the area as this was my first visit to Emsworth.

There was a nice atmosphere about the place with a good cross section of people imbibing.

Going back to the beer, quite a few pubs have Hopbacks Summer Lightning and you occasionally see Crop Circle but this was the first time that I've seen Odyssey and can thoroughly recommend it along with this great pub.
