Went in this bar on a Saturday night for a quick pint and found it truly uninspiring, loud moronic people, no where decent to sit down, poky bar area, poky men's bogs, chances are I won't be returning until the council grant it a strip bar licence.

Shocking place. This pub always used to be a bit odd but appears to have gone truly downhill. I think they must bus the punters in from Mitcham or the like. Loud in there, pokey, nowhere to sit down, nearly all the clientele are fat middle aged blokes shouting at each other. Irredeemable.

They say - "Never go back" - April or whenever last year was okay, but have gone back a couple of times since. Oh dear, not nice. Full of Purley's most articulate philosophers and scientists. With one of thee CR8 nnn postcodes reportedly one of the best heeled in the country, I'd like to know where they drink!

This pub is very poor for a local for somewhere which is supposedly the richest postcode in the country (Purley CR8). It is small and dingy. Some of the locals are really OK but others are a bunch of grumpy James Blunts (those middle aged blokes in suits, you know who you are!) Also acts as the staff canteen for FirstAssist staff which is opposite, as there is absolutely nothing else to do in Purley. Once FirstAssist staff leave that company they are never seen in their again. Only redeeming feature is that the food is not too bad, but as one of the main locals for somewhere as rich as Purley, THIS IS A DISGRACE!!!Oh and the toilets are very small!

I've always felt as if the pub goes a bit quiet when I've walked in!! I think its fair to say this is a bar, not a pub.

Went in here the other day for the first time in more than fifteen years (I remember the uniforms worn by the female staff on opening day and for a while after - couldn't do it nowadays!)
It was okay, charming lady working behind the bar on her first evening. Will make another visit, without the 15 year gap.

Elliotts is my favourite place to go .. it is small and very friendly and lots of people comment that it reminds them of the old American 'cheers' bar. The atmosphere is not intimidating and the regulars and owner and barstaff always make new visitors to the bar to feel very welcome. It serves great home-made food at lunchtime. In the evenings there is a good atmosphere and they play music from the 70's & 80s through to present day. The karaoke and disco is great fun...so much so that I booked my works Christmas party there one year taking and people at worked loved it so much we came back the next year!

friendly bar staff, relaxed atmosphere. Met up with a few friends and a good evening was had by all. Blackjack on a Wednesday evening is good fun.
