A very lovely pub and very friendly with good ales.

A beautiful pub, shame it is a Shepherd Neame. Although there was a decent range of ales. I had bishops finger and Emma had a Goldings. both seemed rather fizzy

nice friendly pub good ales reasonable price nice garden

Another nice country location and nice property. The drawback is that the beers are all Shepherd Neame - Spitfire, Master Brew & Bishop's Finger. Cider was Thatchers Gold. The barmaid seemed a bit dappy. She couldn't seemed to understand why she was running out of glasses, despite the fact that the pub was not that busy. Whenever she wasn't serving she was drinking coffee or talking to the kitchen staff. She appeared to break more glasses than she washed as the empties started stacking up at the back of the bar. This was all quite amusing.

A very nice country pub in lovely surroundings. Good range of Shepherd Neame ales. I tried the seasonal one and it was excellent.

Terribly Towny owners, have ruined what used to be a decent pub

A good local pub usually selling the full range of Shepherd Neame ales; now also offering the new brews coming from the micro-brewery when available. There has always been a friendly atmosphere when I've visited the pub. Nice garden for the summer months.

Ancient building, sympathetically updated. Used (ages ago!)to be the only pub selling Harveys for miles around. Now a Sheps pub;I tried the Kents Best-didn't that use to be a Fremlins trademark?- and the Masterbrew, both were on good form. The Rye Scallop Stout was on the bar, but I resisted the temptation. Bar meals are good value, and dogs are welcome.

Pleasant country pub, serving excellent Shepherd Neame beer. Well worth a detour if visiting nearby Sissinghurst, Goudhurst or Cranbrook.
