Great traditional pub in a lovely setting. Best place in area for Timothy Taylor Landlord and we had a lovely meal.
It's also great to meet the same barman every year when we make our Pilgrimage to North Yorkshire from the souff of England!

Proper solid pub. Beer in good nick. Food nice. Could be a little livelier. Definitely worth a visit when staying in Settle or Gig.

As a previous reviewer said the pub has a fair choice for real ale (better than some in the Settle/Giggleswick area). The reason for not accepting dogs in the pub might be because the landlord/landlady has one themselves.

Real old fashioned pub with lots of brass. Sat next to the church and a stones throw from the public school. Beer fine and food fabulous. Went at lunch, had a starter and couldn't get through the main meal as whilst it was wonderful, the portion was more than 'genorous' to say the least. My wife, fortunately, suffered the same rather enjoyable experience. Have been before and will go again, throroughly recommended.

My eldest step son used to work here. Very friendly and cosy pub. Excellent food. Fair choice of real ale. Downside is they wouldn't let us take the dogs indoors so not very animal friendly.

What a great night, first Wednesday of the month I mean, Quiz night, excellent food, good ale, and the quizmaster has an excellent sense of humour,

Cosy local pub with friendly atmosphere and good service. Charming, slightly old-skool interior (lots of horse brasses and the like).
Small but well-kept range of Yorkshire ales (Timothy Taylor and Tetley).
Good food at reasonable prices and with large portions. Large menu but most of it seemed freshly cooked to me.
Down a side street by the church, but well worth seeking out.

Excellent pub with a warm welcome. Staff friendly and service good. Food excellent. I had Steak pie which was very good and portions generous. Taylors Landlord and Best also John Smiths which was very good. A little out of the way but well worth the effort. Also do accommodation.

Just down the hill below the Harts Head Hotel this is a nice place next to the churchyard. Well run with nice food. Sells Timothy Taylor Landlord and Golden Best; also Tetley. 8/10.

A great local pub with superb evening meals. The steak and ale pies were first class. Had two meals there last week enjoying both immensely. Good selection of local bears, Taylors being prominent. Friday night was very busy for eating so get there very early (we went at 6:00 and they started serving at 7:00). Weekday visit was much quieter but no drop in standards for the food of service. Owner/proprietors very friendly and have a couple of beautiful dogs.
