popped in here one saturday afternoon for a quick pint. Nice pint of Coors, sat outside overlooking the harbour and sea, the pub is very high up on the cliff above porthleven village/harbour. mix of locals, front bar is relatively small so seating inside can be a challenge when busy, there is a back room also for more diners I guess. has live music every 2nd sat night.

Crowded when we visited. Bought a beer and started to look for a seat. Front bar full so tried back room. Saw some empty tables, but when we started to walk in, was stopped by the bar maid. She asked if we had booked a table. Said no and she said she would sort us out. No reserved signs anywhere. Ended up under the coats across from the toilets. Finished beer left. Will never go back.

Well worth the short stroll from the harbour as the sea views are superb and the beer good with 4 ales on inluding a Bays and Betty Stoggs plus 2 others from smaller breweries when we visited which is rare to see in a Cornish pub. Food looked decent and reasonably priced too.

just returned from a break at porthleven and previous reviews stand - friendly locals pub and staff friendly to strangers too. Ale good and food fine. would recommend over other 2 pubs.

Visited again last April. good food, good quality ale and views out over the sea.

Nice locals pub. The menu and food quality/presentation has become hit and miss the last couple of times I have been in. However, there is always a warm welcome and nice atmosphere at this pub.
|
Friendly service and good booze - we had several pints of Skinners 'Figgys Brew'. On one visit we dined. The food was very nice. The fire was going which made the place homely on a windy, wet November night. Will visit again.

A nice friendly clean pub. Always a warm welcome from the licencees and Staff.
Good to see it used by lots of locals and visitors alike. My only quibble is the loss of tables in the main bar.
Hope it stays the same for many years to come.

Visited just once in our week - to be honest was put off by the smell in the bar. Has the smoking ban been implemented here? If so then needs a good wash and brush up - and tidy up inside. Would hesitate before going again. Sorry... maybe we were unlikely.

Sat outside and enjoyed the view with a Betty Stogs (that's a local beer and not one of the buck toothed homegirls)!

good for a stop off after a nice coastal walk, friendly staff, nice layout, nice pictures, bit concerned about people throwing darts next to my head as the dart board was to close to my table.
