Trigger Pond, Great Sankeyback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
15 of us in daytime, 24/11/10 we had 3 course xmas meal with choice of starters main & sweet, all 15 enjoyed it a few people said too much on plate but food was good, staff excellent, also gave us xmas crackers to pull (good ones) only slight downside it was a sunny day outside and those that faced the windows had to keep putting their hands over thier eyes as there are no blinds or curtains on the windows, If we go again on a sunny day we will ask to be seated elsewere.

Been coming here over the years, and the last night was probably the last. Food is appaling. Fed up with being palmed off with deep fried river cobbler as a cod substitute.
Lamb burger was like one of those grill steaks my mum used to get us in the 80s. no texture, just horrid.
No one finished their dinner, which I think says everything.

myself and a coach of others visited this pub on 16/5/09 while our sons played a rugby match at great sanky school.we were thier nearly all afternoon only leaving to watch the match for a while then going back. we were made very welcome by the owners and staff who i believe have only been thier 6 months, the pub was a lot bigger than we expected very clean and well presented, some of us had a meal which was really good and well priced, if you are in the area it is well worth a visit, it has large car park plenty room for coaches aswell.we were all very impressed with the place and would definatley return or recomend to others if in that area. thanks to all thier who made us welcome, sharon from maryport

I worked at The Trigger Pond when it first opened, it was a great pub then and it is sad to read it is in demise. Esther & Malcolm were the first managers of the pub and i worked for them we had great fun.

I echo swilsops comments , the food is reasonable and the real ale is very good . The pub really does need some investment it is sadly going back the way .

Could be an excellent pub if the brewery would take it seriously and invest in a revamp. Generally a family dining pub but needs a damn good clean and a revamp to justify the prices. It's a shame because it's popular in the current state, but with some money spent it could be a gold mine.
