Visited the pub at lunchtime on Saturday 13/10/2014. Five real ales on ranging from incredibly pale, the local HPA to fairly dark brown.

I sampled two of them, Sharps Own which was very good, like Doombar only tastier and then a darker beer from Banks, both in excellent condition.

Two draught ciders, Addlestones Cloudy and Jack Ratt, which according to my friend was also very good.

Reasonably busy at lunch time and did overhear the barman turning someone down for a table in the evening as they were fully booked, which is obviously a good sign! The food has a Med / Cypriot slant, with a few usuals, all that was ordered was of very good quality!

As the previous poster indicated, this is a pub that you would like to be your local.

Only a brief 1 pint visit whilst the DFR got its timetable back on track (which it did, commendably ).But, a nice looking unpretentious pub, cosy bar areas, friendly and efficient young ladies at the bar and a nice selection of 5 hand pulled ales. First impressions;-somewhere you would want as your local. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the forest.

Nice village pub with a good range of beers. Fairly busy with a rowdy bunch of locals when we visited, but all good natured. Plenty of parking and two outdoor seating areas.

A traditional pub with two bar areas. The main bar area and a lounge bar. 5 real ales and 3 real ciders were all available on hand pumps. I tried the local Freeminer 'Slaughter Porter' which was very good. A juke box was playing and a large screen tv was available in the lounge area.

We were on holiday in the CSMA site and due to go home on the Friday, after visiting this pub, we decided to extend our holiday and take in the pirates day entertainment. glad we did, an excellent pub with a very good range of beers and ciders. Marco and Karen are excellent hosts, really enjoyed our stay, and the 3 days spent in the pub.

A large village local in the Forest of Dean, a couple of miles from Lydney. On our visit, we were welcomed by the staff and regulars, enjoyed four real ales and had some good pub food. Next time I'll make room to try the three traditional ciders. Highly recommended.
