Agree pretty much with paddyrussell's comment. We were made welcome. Good range of beers (Sharp's Doom, Marston's Sweet Chariot), and interesting menu. Really coulddo with a lick of paint, though.

Pleasant enough guvnor and staff. Beer has has always seemed decent when I have popped in to watch the football on telly. The punters are almost all pretty loud but are not agressive as they tend to be an older crowd. It is in dire need of a redecoration though.

More of a bookmakers than pub.
|
Warning, this pub is so bad, that most Taxi Drivers will not service the clients. Its a long walk to the station,1.3 miles.
|
Absolute dive, leaves a lot to be desired.

Saynotospoons must have visited the pub on the same day as ourselves, the review was spot on, it is a shame about the pub and what goes on there,it is set in a fantastic setting, could be a fantastic pub if run properly.

Dodgy Essex builders hell hole
If you like 30 somethings who still act like they are 16 and feel the requirement to prove to their friends that they are the tough guy of the group, especially after a few quite frequent trips to the cubicle
Much like a scene from 'Football Factory'
Avoid

Full of shouting plastic Gangsters. Buy anything here except decent beer. Obviously on the verge of being knocked down for another block of flats.

This used to be a great pub,not any more, the manager is either selling knocked off goods ,or moaning about how bad trade is.Im not suprised, trade is bad,its full of ancient car dealers.drug dealers, and kids,no food and no service.Avoid if you value your safety.

full of essex blokes of a certain age who still think they're a bit 'tasty', and if these reviews are anything to go buy, not the brightest, either.
as stated, it's on the way to epping, do yourself a favour and keep driving.

Functional, workman-like pub next to a petrol station on the main road through Epping Forest - good on a walk through the woods. Great views over the forest to Chingford from just outside. Seems to be getting friendlier.
|
Great tradional pub, great staff, managment team have been here nearly for ever so they know whats what, the kitchen does shut several hours too early and the prices are a little bit expensive considering its in the middle of no where, visit it and find out for your selves, dont forget to pick up the racing post cos they seem to luv the racing!!!

Great tradional pub, food is fantastic, (although they shut to early), beer is a bargin, great staff (lots of cute barmaids), although a real locals pub all are welcome, shame one has to drive to it!
