Now demolished, new housing on site

I really like this pub and can't understand why people don't use it.There was only 3 other people in on a Saturday afternoon but i liked the interior and a had a rather spiffing pint of Banks's mild.

very twee - however the fake beams looks so tacky they could have been purchased off Del Trotter. The Mild was drinkable. There are far better pubs locally - the Oak for instance, but demolition is a bit harsh

Its reputed to have been 'saved' twice already,so its a "Use it or lose it" situation (remember Finchfield/casltecrofts pub The Chestnut).
It was a good enough pub in the 80s,(i think this pub was built to replace the old one on the same sight ?). So its not an old one, maybe some of the Dog & Gun crowd could help by using this on route or returning from the woof Bang pub, also in Tettenhall.

Needs flattening. The brewery have taken the mickey with minimal maintenance and maximum pricing for far too long. Avoid, especially at Christmas when the staff are particularly miserable and clueless.

I had a long walk from Newhampton down Wood Road to get to this pub and was disappointed. The one room was pretty full of diners. The staff were friendly and I enjoyed my half of Banks Original but was very uncomfortable with the heat in the room and the smoking area and non smoking area are in the same room.

Cant wait till this pub gets knocked down! Horrible vibe too open plan and very dull. Walk an extra five minutes and go to the dog and gun

Standard-issue open-plan Banks neighbourhood pub. Original was distinctly average - little of interest and better Banks round both corners !
