A nice country pub with a central bar with a brick frontage and stone flagstones on the floor. The lounge is long and thin and the seating is rather basic. There was an excellent range of real ales including a good pint of Darkstar Chestnut Brown Ale. There is a separate carpeted dining area but since I wasn't eating, I can't comment on the food. It is in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide and is worth seeking out.

Cracking good local pub, with fantastic food (huge portions) and well looked after beers. Great choice of local ales (Dark Star was amongst them), very friendly service, great atmosphere. Excellent!

Wendy has done a great job since taking over this pub - great food and beers and occasional music - and though the interior may feel a little 'cold', everything else is warm and welcoming. Well worth a visit.

What a lovely little pub. Nice food and beers from local Kissingate brewery. Landlady very friendly. Must go back there soon.

I didn't particularly find the decor pleasant in here. It has obviously been modernised a few times. The central bar has few tables. But the flagstone floors and a piano near the entrance do provide a hint of the traditional. The areas either side are slightly raised. One is for diners and the other is pretty bland apart from a few tables and a dartboard. Beers were Harveys Best, Darkstar Best and Kissingate Storyteller. I don't remember seeing anything from the latter brewery previously. The cider was Stowford Press. The landlady was very friendly and welcoming. I just found the ineterior a little too 'cold' for my liking.

The new landlady is doing a splendid job here, excellent beer and good value food.

Went in here the first time in ages and had a good pint of Harveys and at a reasonable price. Two more Sussex beers on tap as well but I didnt try them this time. Nice pub.

New Landlord from September 2008. Good choice of local beers. Very promising.

I discovered this pub on the WJ King Ale Trek. It seems nobody else has, as it's not on this site and not in the GBG! It had a good range of beers, Harvey's Best and Mild, WJ King Horsham Bitter and Hepworth's Summer Ale when I visited. Nice atmosphere and, in an area where restaurants masquerading as pubs abound, a real pub, albeit with a small dedicated eating area. Bar Billiards is played and, judging from the notices about local clubs and groups, a genuine local.
