Closed. Squatters peacefully evicted recently but no sign of it opening as a pub again.

landlord seems decent enough boke but his advertised ales have so never been on when I've been in the place. I think he's let them slip through lack of demand so i will be visiting more often to give him some encouragement to give the some decent bitters another go.

On the capital ring walk and a welcome pint after the 5 miles from grove park. Landlady pleasant. Sat and eavesdropped to dialogue straight from a martina cole novel. Toilet came complete with a sunken brown trout.

Had to send back a half of Hepworth Pullman bitter, which was replaced with the other cask ale. This was a Young's London Gold pumpclip but with a Ruddles sticker on it. This was also off and undrinkable.
Very cheap for London at 2.30 a pint. The barman was at least polite enough and had no problem with swapping the beers. But he didn't apologise or turn the pumpclip around.
Locals gave me bad-eye from the minute I walked in. I wouldn't have minded so much if I'd at least had a half-decent beer to drink. They need to learn how to keep their beer. I won't be back in a hurry.

This pub has much more of a locals feel to it than most station pubs that I have been into and although I didnt find it to be the most welcoming of places I was left in peace to enjoy a nicely poured pint of Guinness. On the ale front Hepworths Iron Horse was available along with Youngs Ordinary which was the guest.
Along with plenty of Arsenal and Celtic memorabilia I spotted a plasma screen, projector and three small TVs which were all showing football on Sky.
There is a warming cabinet on the bar which Id imagine gets filled with pies etc during the day, but I think that this is the extent of the food menu.
I wouldnt go out of my way to return here, but it is good enough for a pint whilst waiting for a train.

Alright, not as intimidating as it's first, exterior impression. Can buy stolen meat and perfume there.
