Went there for dinner tonight (Monday) with my boyfriend and it was a great dining experience! Nice setting/environment/decor, wonderful service and amazing food!
I think we were served by the landlady, who was very friendly, helpful and funny. We're quite fussy drinkers/eaters but she did all she could to help to answer our questions and fulfil our requests.
We sat in the bar area as the dining area had been booked for a large party but it was quiet and the sports channel was on a very low volume so no issue there. We asked to taste the guest ale (a local one whose name I forget) but then went for the Doom Bar (3.00) instead just because it wasn't to our taste. The Doom Bar was in great shape. We both ordered their "Finer Dishes" Hertfordshire Beef and Abbot Ale pie with mustard and leek mash, savoy cabbage and red wine sauce. And they're not lying when they label it a Finer Dish - a *whole* (not a measly slice like you usually get) freshly handmade pie (about the size of a large fist) with ample mash on top and a helping of savoy cabbage. Perfectly cooked and we were thoroughly stuffed at the end and for only 9.55 per dish that's good value too!
The only minor criticism is that the mustard and leek mash had a bit too much mustard in it so you couldn't really taste much of the leek or potato! But I'll still score it a 10/10 since it's currently vastly under-rated due to its past ratings.

New landlord and lady, new coat of paint and a new warm welcome. Food was standard pub fare, but was hot and served with a smile. Staff seemed happy, beer was good and the White Hart feels like it might be finding it's place again!

This pub has had a major investment done in November and looks amazing. The picture does not do it any justice so I have uploaded an more recent picture for you to look at. Is under new management and all the staff were very friendly. Food was great with it all being homemade and pudding was to die for
We enjoyed the entertainment they had one Saturday evening as they do live music monthly and the atmosphere was brilliant so we ended up staying all night. An amazing place will be visiting again

I have been going to this pub for several years now hoping that each time the menu has changed the food might get better! but it doesn't.
We waited ages for our food today (even though we were the only ones in there) , and then one of ours came out 30mins later and the missed off the chips and the bacon?
very bad service.
The pub itself has soo much potential, great loaction, big run garden but not much happening. Somebody please rescue it!!

The other White Hart, an alright pub which has very much an old fashioned feel. Quite an eerie atmosphere and not an awful lot going on here. Different ales which included Tribute and London Pride. Felt slightly unfriendly atmosphere at the bar compared to other pubs in area but 7/10 nontheless.

Average daggy British pub interior. Service acceptable, if not a little inexperienced. My lager tasted flat and had no head whatsoever. Asked for a burger without bacon - the bacon had been on the chicken and was removed - leaving the taste. Cook was behind the bar swearing openly in front of me (f word - not "food" though) while joking with colleagues. All a bit mediocre and run down really. Not the worst pub I have ever been to - but certainly in the top 10.

I recently stayed at this hotel and loved it. The rooms were lovely, spacious and clean. There was a wide choice of lovely food and drinks and to top our stay the staff were friendly and helpful. Would definatly stay here again, the free wifi is an added bonus for the bargain price I paid!!

Visited this pub a while ago and found to have an excellent, friendly atmosphere - now appears run down and grotty !

Don't go on a football night - unless you want to feel you are on the terraces! The food is of a reasonable standard, good value, but somehow lacks a little imagination and could easily be out of a plastic container. The specials are a little more intersting. If you are hungry and thirsty you could do much worse, but if you have the time to plan ahead.....

Enjoyable atmosphere and friendly barstaff ! Good value food as well but tends to be best to order from the 'specials' menu as these are more home cooked and much better value !

The White Hart is actually quite old and, as you might expect, the pub is full of wooden beams and strangely-proportioned rooms. It does nod to modernity by having tv screens for the football lovers, and several fruit machines. There is a restaurant area at the side of the pub and hotel accomodation at the rear, so there is plenty of variety in the food served in the bar, although it can be rather pricey - as is the beer. The bar is very well stocked with bottles, the lager is the usual foreign "made under licence" stuff and there is a real ale pump for visitors. The atmosphere is very variable. The nook and cranny style of the bar means that you may seem to be the only one in the pub, when there are actually customers just around the corner. At others times - especially evenings - the bar can be quite busy. In summary, an ok pub (if a little pricey) and not worth making a special trip to visit.
