The beer is good, but the food a little pricey and 'standard' pub, i.e. nothing special.

nice pint of local bitter, but definitely a restaurant with a bar, not a pub.

This place gets very busy during the summer (when we have one). Time it right and the meals are not to bad, beer a bit pricey. Nice stop off if like me you like bike riding in the New Forest.

Been here quite a few times with the kids 2003 - 8. Great play area and great New Forest location. Food above average but not brilliant. Service above average.

Stopped here for a meal, drink and rest. It was fairly busy but the landlord came and spoke to us, he informed us he had recently taken over the pub (March 2008) the food was good, beer excellent. A fantastic pub for families, but also many areas for peace and quiet....the added bonus was the horses wandering around the carpark.

Stopped here for lunch as we were passing and as it was getting on for half two, so some other pubs had stopped serving. Not the sort of place we would normally choose as it is quite commercial, but the food was ok, if a bit pricey for microwave / pre-preparred stuff. Quite a few kids running about but they did have a few tables that kids are not allowed at, which was a blessing. Real ale choice was limited to Pride, HSB and Ringwood Best, and actually the HSB seemed to be well kept. Worth stopping if you are in need of a bite to eat outside of smaller pub serving hours, but a fairly standard place with nothing to set it apart from the average. Staff were friendly though.
