Friendly, no frills, backstreet local serving a good pint of Dartmoor Legend today which had replaced Friday's Butcombe Gold. The Doom Bar pump clip was turned round but also available were London Pride and one other cask ale.

A lively little place with a mixture of tourists and locals when we visited. Pint was a good one too. 8/10

This is real pub.Great and varied ever changing selection of locally brewed excellent quality ales, real open fire when it's required, efficient, genuinely friendly service and an accommodating landlord. Proper atmosphere and real people.

Excellent pint of Hartland Forge IPA. The pint I've been yearning for in all my years of visiting Bideford. This is a very friendly pub, the best in town in my view. Sad that Dexter the pub dog has passed away - but nice to see one of the Jollyboat pump clips dedicated to the old lad.

This is a locals local, but the welcome is always friendly. Three real ales - Rosey Nosey was a bit off but the Hobgoblin and the Jollyboat were fine. Also has a roaring fire with a geriatric dog lolling around in front of it. Good stuff.

Used this pub several times whilst in town. Welcoming landlord and staff. Does not pretend to be anything other than a proper pub. Nothing fancy and good on them.

Seems to be a return to form for the Hart - very pleasant afternoon visit. Two friendly ladies behind the bar and a decent pint of Tribute.

Visited two successive evenings while on holiday. Very good impression first time (Tue) - good beer, good food, very welcoming. Next evening - different staff, no food served, completely different atmosphere.

Used to go a lot when we Sheila ran it, but didn't really like it when the new owners took it over. Must give it another try.

Quiet, friendly back street pub.
