My wife and I happened to be staying on the outskirts of Chelmsford, and ventured towards the town, in search of a drink. We're both so glad that The Endeavour was the first pub we came across, the staff and the customers were so friendly, as evidenced by The 'What's On' blackboard, inviting all and sundry to an upcoming wedding celebration in the pub. The Maldon Gold was a beautiful drop as well, and may well prove instrumental in converting my other half to proper ale. I really felt that I had to provide some feedback, as The Endeavour is surely one of the loveliest little proper pubs I have ever been in. The only sour note was a slightly less than fresh pickled egg, but the wasabi peanuts (highly recommended) soon made me forget!

Quaint , original interior, small and clean are all adjectives that apply to this enjoyable public house. Infrequent beer festivals- one such occurring on my visit. Patronised by an elder, friendly clientele
real ale Prices 2.80/2.90 on my visit. Beer in good condition.
Stock beers are GK IPA, Abbot, Adnams, usually always one from the excellent Mightyoak stable. A 2nd guest ale offering would greatly elevate this pub's standing.
Unlucky not to be in GBG 2010, as it has previously enjoed inclusion in previous years.

Visited this lovely pub on a Saturday evening, and I must say that the Maldon Gold, which was on draft, was delicious. This is a proper pub. The sort of place you go if you fancy a chat and a pint. The jukebox in the corner has a very large selection of tracks, including numerous 70s soft rock classics. I spoke to a regular customer at The Endeavour, (Richard), who was clearly is a big fan of his local. (My god, that man could talk).

An excellent friendly local with good value food (fish night and steak night are well known). Landlord knows his beers and usually at least 5 real ales on offer.

Great little pub, real ale, real food and genuine people to have a conversation with. Guest ale every week, darts and crib teams, if it wasn't for the bang up to digital music box you could believe you'd stepped back to a halcyon age.

A mate of mine lives opposite, so we've often been in there. A real proper pub, with great beers and no loud music. Wouldn't attract chavs. They even sell pickled eggs! How a pub should be.

The Endeavour is a very welcoming and friendly pub with a wide variety of real ales as well as the usual lagers available. Its perfect for a night with your mates if you want to go somewhere different to the town and play a game of darts or just chill with some mates and have a beer. Its widely regarded as a regulars pub but don't be put off by that because new faces are always warmly welcomed by the friendly staff and customers. Give it a try yourself!!!!

A very friendly pub in Springfield Road, Chelmsford! Whilst it's a bit small, the friendly staff and quality ale more than make up for it. There's a healthy amount of regulars (of all ages) that enjoy a well kept pint of Maldon Gold. For mild drinkers, check out the Oscar Wilde Mild.
It's a great sanctuary to get away from the madness that is Chelmsford town, when you want to kick back and relax.

Love this pub!! Often stop in on my way home from work for a swift Maldon Gold (or two!). My dad also goes in every now and then and says that the Green King IPA is always tip top! When in Chelmsford - well worth a visit!
