This is a very welcoming place, with friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are simple but clean and tidy. The food is outstanding, both the new Thai menu (the best for miles around) and the traditional home-cooked English fare. There is a good selection of wines and real ales. All in all, a real pleasure to stay here - which I do regularly - and to enjoy the first-rate food and drink.

I agree completely with the recent comments on this 'pub'. Having spoken to various people, current management has indeed chased away the locals - forgetting that the locals will be their bread and butter when the notivity wears off. I have also heard that he has been slaundering off the previous management. Big mistake! The Management are uncaring and unwelcoming to the point it makes you wonder how they got the job in the first place.
The Jolly Miller was a warm welcoming establishment - granted with its faults, but it has been ruined.

I'm sorry but to describe this place as actually still being a 'Pub' is simply misleading. I'm no expert as to the quality of the Thai cuisine (I suggest you simply see the previous review for comment) but I do wonder just how big the demand will truly be for this kind of specialist menu around here once the novelty wears off? Don't get me wrong, I honestly do wish the business every success for the future. However, I can't help but feel a bit 'sad' that out of a total of seven local 'pubs' (not counting either The George Hotel or The Millhouse) one has now gone (burnt down), two remain unchanged but the other four are all now restaurants! I guess this is a sign of the times for the industry as a whole across the UK, adapt or die! It's just a real shame that rural pubs in places like Odiham are all rapidly turning into places where 'non-locals' just visit to dine!...God I really do miss not having either a pool table or a proper juke-box! There's a line from the Kevin Costner film 'Field of Dreams' which seems fitting.....'Build it and they WILL come!'.....I rest my case!.....I'm Morethan Freeman...thank you for listening!

I had the unfortunate experience of staying here recently after my secretary booked me a room at short notice when I had some business in Basingstoke. The rooms are dirty & dated & the bed may well have been older then the actual building. The landlord was uncaring & unwelcoming & according to some of the customers I spoke to in the bar, has alienated most of the locals who now don't go there anymore. The USP of this pub is that it serves Thai food. Great I thought ! As a regular visitor to Thailand I love Thai food so I decided to give it a go. The restaurant and bar is sparkly & new as it has recently been refurbished. The service was with a smile & I was shown to a table by a very friendly young man. A wide & varied menu was presented to me & I chose my usual favourite of Thai green curry. What a disappointment! The taste was like plastic & it was akin to a bad supermarket curry - and this is at London West End prices. The rice was hard & undercooked. I'd have done better getting a microwave meal from Asda. Had a word with my secretary after this & raised my overnight stay budget. I guess you get what you pay for as far as rooms go and the room was cheap - but you won't get any value if you eat here. Good to stay here if you want a cheap room but I've had more authentic Pot Noodles than the curry I was served here.

I visited this pub at what seemed to be a very busy time, and wasn't sure that I would even get a table. Despite this, the staff made me feel very welcome and soon had me seated. They had three real ales on (which was a bonus) and they were kept well. I enjoyed a lovely meal and a fab atmosphere. Nothing was too much trouble. Next time I will book. I recommend this pub for it's food, drink and atmosphere.

we visited this pub on New Years Day for a late lunch- what a treat, the beer was in good condition and food excellent, however the strongest impression was the atmosphere, the staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly, excellent service and overall a great experience

A very friendly establishment with polite and helpful well trained staff in customer service. The food is of excellent quality and very well priced. This establishment is worth a visit.

Very friendly pub much frequented by folk who are travelling through. No real ales. Very good value for food. Generous portions and a good range.
