visited this pub at the weekend. walked in and did not get as much as a hello from the landlady. went to order some food at the 'food hub' with the young girl, when the landlady came rushing over to say - hold on we need to sort out tables first! would have left at that point except we were starving and didnt have long till our ferry left! ordered a horrible pasty and chips which was full of potatoe (no meat) and a bowl of soggy deep fried chips.
wont be going back - not becuase of the food but because of the rude and unwelcoming landlady!

What a total rip off this place is. I popped in with my girlfriend and ordered a pint of natch and a pint of carling it came to 6.90! I nearly walked out. The pub itself has alot of character with a big circular bar in the middle which i like. But with these prices i hope it goes bust. 2/10

Returned again, as promised, albeit summer not spring - oh dear, come on Atmospheric, Otter not at its best this time, and quite expensive now, too.

what a shame to read the poor reviews - we visited three times in 2010, pub found to be pretty good, Otter Bitter in excellent condition - perhaps we were just lucky? Will be returning in Spring 2011, so watch this space!!

all said already, could be good but it isn't and is going downhill

This pub could be brilliant......but it's not! The building itself has lots of character but that's as good as it gets. The pub looked really dirty and the brass pumps looked like they'd never been cleaned. Also had a pint of overpriced lager that tasted watered down so i won't be going back.

Will be known by us as the Lack of Atmosphere Inn / Abandoned Railway. Sure the locals like it though. Had Otter Brewery bitter and Bass on recent visit. Probably like a lot of quiet village places now struggling a bit.
