Visited last night. had to sit outside for covid restrictions. Lovely views towards Goodwood racecourse. Good pint of Harveys.
FOOD - Top up before you go. Miniscule portions set in the middle of massive plates. The main course was the size of a starter. Had to pop into the local garage to fill myself up with some chocolate bars on the way home. Very very expensive - poor value for money.

Visited the pub over Christmas with my wife and kids around 5pm and was sad to be sat near two middle aged couples in bad shirts effing and blinding. I asked them politely to stop swearing, especially as we were with our kids but was invited to go outside and sort it out with a fight. I was guaranteed it would all end wrong for me. Anyway I decided to leave without even finishing my drinks. The staff did nothing about it. The manager did nothing either, in spite of me calling later on. This pub is basically a hot spot for chav wannabees who think they are one notch above the Bognor crowd. I recommend the nearby Royal Oak for a proper Goodwood experience without the pikeys. Shame, if they got a doorman with a pair of nuts to chuck the pr1cks out I would give it a 10.

...... 5.00 for a pint of San Miguel.

Very enjoyable visit, the nice sunny day helped as we sat outside. No complaints as far as the meals were concerned - all very good and nicely cooked/presented.
The staff were ok, friendly enough. It is fairly pricey but I thought it was well worth it as it was a nice atmosphere and the food was good.

Basically a restaurant with a pub bar, young shiny staff provide an open plan dining service experience in shiny leather and light oak surroundings - pricier than average - fish test - i.e. when i order a bass is it the fillet for 12-15 or the whole fish, alas it was the fillet - cash cow enterprise - but if you want to enjoy a beer and good food and dont care for pub pleasantries go for it. garden is welcome in summer, fairly busy road setting...

We go there regularly and the food and service are excellent. Still going strong under the new management with great seasonal food including a mutton stew that was gorgeous.

I take it all back. The pub is now welcoming, with great beer and very good food. My only criticism is that the food is a little pricey, but no worse than local competitors. The staff and owners are so welcoming, especially as we have a child who is made to feel very comfortable. Service is swift, food is tasty, and the view over the Downs from the garden is superb. A change for the better!

Glad to hear that this place has changed hands; seemingly for the better. It used to be run by a stroppy little new zealander who was the sort who would start a fight with himself if there was no one else. Glad to see he's gone (to new zealand with luck.

Under new owners who are giving it a go.

The beer here has never been any good. They've spent so much money on the refurb, and it looks good, but why oh why don't they spend some money on employing someone who knows about cask ales I don't know.

Once a great pub, now sadly a place that serves salty food and not very well kept ale.

Recently re opened after a major refurbishment. It is now more of a restaurant than a pub, although there is a small area set aside for drinkers. Nicely done out but lacking is atmosphere. Every time I've been there there seems to have been someone else in charge, chosen from the united nations they have working behind the bar. Nevertheless,it's a nice place to go for a drink or meal, but they need someone to sort out the ales.
