Changed ownership again. Been here 3 times this year. Last week only Pride on tap. Was expecting Rebellion but it was off apparently. Food quality has gone down a bit - overcooked pie and undercooked veg.

Can't understand why this place doesn't get more reviews. It's always a full car park on a Friday lunchtime. On recent visit, had Adnams - Ghost Ship which was a nice change and a pleasant pint. Food always good and large portions too.

Visited on one of those freak days when the sun came out and was able to sit in the garden. Good wholesome food as always and very well served beer.

This is one of our locals for work lunchtimes. Car park can get very busy Thurs/Fri lunchtime. Good selection of beers including Rebellion IPA, Morland Old Spekled Hen & Shepherd Neame Spitfire. Spitfire in good order on last visit. Always worth ringing ahead to reseve a table and they welcome pre-ordered food by phone at busy times. Food portions are great and good quality. Large nachos, is very large, you have been warned! Also, good garden for the warm weather.

Tried it out on the basis of the reviews below. A good pint of Old Speckled Hen. Good value menu for bar snacks and 'pub classic' dishes, but not a place for foodies. Piped music rather obtrusive. Superb view from the restaurant section (and the garden) across the Thames Valley.

Yep.. liked this place..! My previous visit was a few years ago, since when there's been a management change. I had the Rebellion IPA, my mate had the Brakes, both superb. Didn't eat but, for choice, menu looked better than average. Friendly welcome and crackin' view over the valley from the garden. Great on a summers day. This one's definitely on the circuit now..!

I have visited Th Stag Pub in F/H on 2 occations,in June (Sat Eve) and again July (Sun Lunch) and eaten both times. The food is excellent (my husband recomends the Rib-eye). Really friendly staff. We are thinking of booking dinner for a party of 15 for our mothers 70th birthday in October.

Just moved to the area and paid a brief visit this evening.
Two real ales on (Brakspear Bitter and the local Rebellion IPA - tried the IPA and it was excellent). Menu looked very promising (although I wasn't able to stay long enough to find out for sure).
Beer garden has an absolutely stunning view over the chiltern hills.
Initial impressions - this seems to be an excellent local with friendly staff and some decent beer on. Particularly pleased to see a local brew on - the Rebellion IPA.
Will no doubt be visiting this place a lot in the coming months.
