Sorry gregatb, This site is now a Tesco. So now there are 2 Tescos in Burnham - another new one in the High Street!

This place has been closed for ages which is a crime. It was never particularly nice or a decent atmosphere, but opening a Tesco here will suffocate all the surrounding area - businesses and roads alike. Tesco are trying to take over the whole of Slough it seems. Hopefully they'll be refused a change of purpose planning application and this site will have to be re-opened as a pub or eatery.

Further to my Posting 21 March 2008. Tesco have confirmed they purchased the site in Feb. 2008. Awaiting the building of a TESCO Local or Express.

PUB CLOSED EARLIER THIS MONTH - NOW BOARDED UP. BREWERY CANNOT GET A LANDLORD SINCE THE ARMED HOLD UP LATE LAST YEAR - LOCAL PAPER SAY FLATS ARE TO BE BUILT ON THE LAND. OTHER LOCAL RUMOUR IS THAT TESCO HAVE BEEN SURVEYING LAND TO BUILD A TESCO LOCAL.

Since this pub changed from a Harvester to a Sizzler, standards have dropped. Sells cheap beer (assume it is short dated and specially purchased). when I was in there earlier this year I too found it to be short on bar staff. On the night I was there they were holding a Quiz, that was more like organised chaos when drunken customers took over the mic and read out the questions. (I hope that it was a one off). Sorry but will not be going back anytime soon. Next time I am in the area I will try somewhere else.

always seems to be short staffed,but the manageress is a diamond,we had a problem withour meal and she sorted this small problem out straight away,great quiz night on wednesdays.

excelent food,this sizzling pub has got it right,new staff and a quality chef have made a huge difference to this one time dive of a pub,well worth a visit,an oasis in a sea of lunacy
