Yet another one closed in order to be converted into a supermarket. For a time was apparently renamed the TRUNDLE TREE.

Under new management, The Royal Oak in East Wittering, Chichester has really been turned around. The staff are friendly and the new menus offer a great choice for both lunch and dinner. We recently met with friends on a Sunday and had a great roast carvery. We enjoyed it so much, we went back for dinner the following week and are now planning to go back for Christmas day lunch!
The new owner is doing a great job. The other great thing about this pub is that it really is child friendly. Looking forward to long summer evenings in the beer garden!
If you are in the area you really should try it.

We were recommended by a friend to try the Sunday Lunch! We were not dissapointed, the food and service were excellent. The staff were very friendly as were the patrons. We will certainly return on our next visit to Wittering.

Visited on a sunny afternoon. Staff friendly, food great (try the 1lb Royal Burger or Triple Cheese Ploughmans (with about 1lb of assorted cheeses)).
Good play area for kids - far enough from decking area that you can't hear the howls of pain as they fall off the swings ! Beer OK but a bit cloudy. Recommend for a quick family lunch before hitting the beach.

Visited this pub while spending the weekend in the witterings. Luckily it was sunny enough to sit out on the newly decked patio area as the inside was a bit cramped and smokey (yes and I DO smoke). The food looked wonderful and the service was friendly. Could do with getting the larger bottles of Magners in instead of the half pint ones though. Also the toilets looked like they missed out on the refurb, pre 1940's by the looks of it. All in all a better place to have a drink than the sports bar further up the road.

Recently Refurbed, a large beer garden with childrens climbing frames and swings and large furnished decked patio area. Public bar has pool table and darts. Separate restaurant area with a good menu choice. Freindly staff.
