Now an HSL chair store

Pub is now closed, future uncertain

OK beer and youngish clientelle

"Ambience" seems to extend to very subdued lighting, lots of industrial ducting & upside-down tiles attached to the ceiling. So be it; my pint of Badger was fine, barmaid attentive & glass properly filled. Better the Railway up the road, even if it is a mausoleum...

recommended to me by a scouse taxi driver, footy was on and the place seemed to be okay. they served a good pint of badger and is located right next to the local bowling alley.

We can confirm that it is quite entertaining on a Tuesday when the Karaoke is underway. Good to see youngsters having fun and a good multi-racial mix. Not somewhere to go for a gossip with friends or the wife! Excelent if you're the right age, serves a reasonable pint, but not a beer drinkers pub.

Visited this recently after a long absence following a disagreement with one of the local gypsies and the landlord. What a change. Following a refurbishment and a new landlord this pub has definitely changed gear. Still gets many foreign students as customers from what I could tell. I've always liked the Woodman but was put off because of some of the locals who used to frequent. Will be using it as a stop off point in the future. Has a dance floor, eating area and plenty of amusements.

Not sure what this pub wants to be. Good ales (I like Hall & Woodhouse), but not many. Tries to have flashy entertainment, but did not match the crowd.
|
Much friendlier these days. Will never be a regular here however due to the ropey Hall & Woodhouse Ales.

good meeting place for regulars, very friendly gets packed on Tues for Steph's Kareoke! Opposite Tesco's!

A seedy, squalid place. Was in there on a Sunday lunchtime and had the displeasure of having to listen to a couple of 'lads' (blokes in their 40s) recounting the recent pub fights that they had gotten into. Apart from me they were the only other people in there. On a Sunday lunchtime. Hmmmmmm. Why could that be then?
