We always struggle to find decent real ale pubs when we come to Yeovil for football....thought we'd be ok here from the reviews but it was a bit disappointing. Six hand pumps, but only three being used. I had a JHB (Oakham) which tasted on, clearly on the turn. The Fullers London Pride then ran out, leaving just a ropey Old Speckled Hen. They clearly don't serve enough real ale to justify a selection of six....would be better off concentrating on one or two served well...

There are now 6 handpumps here, and 4 beers were on when I visited. Fairly standard beers, except for Sharp's Atlantic, which was excellent. Well worth a visit. I understand the food and accommodation are also good. And just to clear up any confusion, the pub has gone back to its original name, the Globe & Crown.

Yes, very hopeful of the new couple. So many vans in the car park, but all very friendly. I thought the London Pride was OK, but what do I know?

A great improvement in the beer range since another change of management. Interesting guest beers, unusual for the area, often appear. Well worth a visit.

Popped back in the other evening while I was in town. The place has a new management couple and I found them very friendly. Had a pint of London Pride, not the best, barely drinkable. When I mentioned it to the landlady she said she was told by the brewer (Fullers), that that was how it was meant to be. I suspect not!! She did offer to change it, to her credit. Fullers would have been appalled to know their beer was being served like that. However, for all that I will return again. Nice place, give it a try.

The Globe and Crown...called in before seeing a band at The Orange Box (right opposite)...good beer...friendly staff and punters...didn't eat but the steaks looked great...large outside area. Recommend

Revisited again yesterday for the first time since 2008 as my previous experience (either lager or lager) put me off. At least they're doing ales now so I may frequent a bit more regularly.

Visited this pub earlier in the year. Glad to say the unit is now called by it's real name!! 'Globetrotters' was a stupid name...sounded like something to do with the Harlem Globetrotters not a pub. Anyway, friendly, clean inside and busy. Oh yeah and the beer was good as well. Sadly no 'Cider & Vimto', the old boys of the late 70's and early 80's would not be impressed!!! In someway though I liked it before it was 'renovated' back in the 80's!! Ho Hum, can't live in the past.

is now called Globe & Crown - just like the Olden Days where I once dwelt

Caters for the younger, lager / nouveau cocktail crowd. Food is good but if you like beer try somewhere else as there is a very limited range of beers and they are not kept that well.

Efficient friendly service. The volume of the music increases through the evening as the age of the punters reduces.
Food is above average, but better at their sister joint the Alex.

Wow!!! it's a whole different globe. they have recently had a refit its amazing. lunctimes are packed with their 2-4-1 menu and night times are chilled with acid jazz and lounge music in the background,if your lucky enough to get 1 of the big comfy leather sofas your not going anywhere for the rest of the night!!!!

Globe is an excellent pub for drinking although the food is adviced to stay away from but as a drinking bar its the best around and good on Tuesday nights when everywhere else is dead

Its a dump, the door is run by narrow minded monkeys in the evening. The punters generally walk round like they own the place & the atomosphere can only be described as smelly, cramped & sweaty with a tent stuck on the back to maximise the cramp & sweatyness.
