Nice pub for lunch during a family bike ride! Kids had mini-pizza, adults had baguettes and chips. Desserts were decadent! I enjoyed the Ringwood Fortyniner on draft too. Plenty of tables in the back garden, along with children's climbing frames.

well they got us here on the basis of a great sounding offer of 2 meals for the price of 1 but like everything thats sounds too good to be true, it was . we thought it a bit 'cafe' like inside and without any decent ales. the deal really mean't the lowest price item on your order was free, you know the 1.99 side order or the 2.99 kids meal. when i took it up with the manager ( a stroppy little so and so ) he wouldn't do anything about it and was basically rude and arrogant. obviously won't be going back in a hurry , would rather pay more at a decent pub.

Came in here during my 'Trip down the West Moors memory lane' recently (after finding the Fryers is now a housing estate) Didnt eat so cant comment on that, but the beer was good and the place is nicely kitted out, certainly a lot nicer than it was in the 70's when I used to live in West Moors :)

Running dog, you need to change your glasses! As I wrote last time, I don't wish to make the managers or the staff of the Tap look bad and I put the onus on Spirit & Punch and their food managers.

I would agree with 'beerbob66' about the food, 'nekst' must have very low standards, but 'beerbob66', don't blame the the managers, blame Punch. Steve and Bev have run a splendid local for over 12 years, the place was fine until Spirit and Punch turned up. As for the beer, the choice may be limited but the quality varies little, it is either good or better, sometimes a lot better. Hands off Steve and Bev, they deserve better.

Went here tonight and can honestly say this was the blandest food I have ever had!! I don't wish to make the managers or staff look bad because this this is just another c*** 'Spirit' pub. New owners ( Punch Taverns- same s***), get rid of your 'food managers' and employ someone with some imagination!!(and tastebuds!!!) Beer wasn't bad though (Ringwood 49er)

Ten of us had lunch at the Tap & Railway on Sunday 29th July. The food was excellent, the service was at the table and very friendly. Value for money - 10/10. You can book a table by phone and they ask you where you would like to sit. There is a section for Children and a large outdoor play area for them. The Pub has a real good atmosphere.

Did not have a table booked but staff arranged things for us to have a meal on a busy night. Service and food good which gives us two fine pubs in West Moors. The railway closed in 1964 to passingers, to the MOD in 1973.

There was a rail station nearby up until about 40 years ago in case you were wondering.
