Bun House, Peckhamback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
It's a local.
However, there is a fledgling artists community (project 133) that uses the Bun House and puts events on in there. In the summer they had a chinese singer doing some strange yoko thing and recently they had this thing called 'you need hands' that had pictures of lots and lots of hands on a big screen.
It's an old school pub from the outside which is kind of reassuring and it has a nice bar and a decent pint of lager.
It's probably the best boozer in North Peckham. (I realise that I'm not saying much by making that statement.)The other end, near the common, and coincidently nearer Dulwich has the Rye Hotel, Gowlett etc.
Art in the community or care in the community? You decide.

At the risk of a cliche, this is a local pub for local people. Once accepted and they are used to your scent the locals do not bite, much. If you want to go to a pub and drink a frisky Burgundy whilst waiting for your 9 burger and discussing house prices don't go to this pub. If however you live or work or shop nearby the place is friendly, serves excellent Guinness and has .50p pool table. The clientele watch the racing and the football and talk with each other. Being a locals pub everybody knows everybody else. No food is served but you can bring in takeaways. The landlord has fish and chip nights where he hands out portions to everybody. On pool and other competition nights there is home made food going around. To sum up this is a village pub in a London suburb with all the best and worst that goes with iy.

From the high street you can't see into this one at all so, for anyone fancying a look, prepare yourself for the following: - big 1 room pub with central bar - unused handpumps, cheapish lager and guinness - sky sports, usually on racing or football - the regulars to take a long, hard look at you immediately upon doors opening. Behave yourself and it's ok for a drink, but there is better in Peckham.
