The Jolly Gardeners was my final new pub of the night, before heading to Richmond for a leaving party. It's almost 10 minutes walk from Earlsfield station, but it is also accessible on bus routes. With the Sambrook's Wandle clip turned round, there was just one solitary real ale. Granted, my By The Horns Hopadelic was very nice. But at £5 per pint, it was not cheap and service wasn't the best. The pub is cosy. But how on earth did this place make it into the Good Beer Guide?

Really gone downhill since recent takeover......no draught beer on Saturday afternoon, and snotty staff! Won't bother again......

Real let down, went for a special occasion, admit it was after 2pm so it was a late sunday lunch but we ordered the roast dinner with all the trimmings but were given chicken, vegetables and boiled potatoes (slightly pan fried or barely roasted). What we had expected (and had seen others receive before us, and been told by the waiter were included in the trimmings) was cauliflower cheese, stuffing, roast potatoes and a yorkshire in addition to vegetables we received. When we complained the waiter said 'we've run out, what do you want me to do?'. Not the kind of response you would hope for. He then helpfully brought out the last 3 roast potatoes and one yorkshire pudding that he had left. Between 8 of us it was pointless. When i suggested he could have told us when we ordered that they had run out of these he had little to say and there was no apology. The food we did get was very tasty but as it wasn't what we ordered it was a let down. For desert 2 of us ordered banoffi pie and the bananas tasted of onion, obviously they had been stored near them or cut with the same knife. Again not pleasant. The 12.5% was naturally added to the bill (which seems unfortunately the norm nowadays) but on a bill that cost over 200 I can say the food and service was not worth the price let alone a 12.5% tip in addition to this.

What a shame! The food here is great, and I've been telling friends how good it is. But had a nasty experience last week which has really put me off. Went for dinner and one of our party didn't get the dish he ordered - not really much of a problem as it was still great - but we were really disappointed with the wine. We ordered a bottle of Sancerre, but as they didn't have any the waitress suggested Chablis. Fine, but it came to the table far from chilled - we'd had to ask for an ice bucket previously when we'd ordered a bottle of Prosecco at the bar, so we stuck it in there. But when we ordered a second bottle, the waitress explained that we'd had the last bottle. We'd have preferred to have one wine and stick to it, so we were quite disappointed to switch.
We explained our disappointment, but all the manager saw fit to do was change the charge for the wrong dish we were given to that of the dish that was actually ordered. i.e a 2 off gesture. The bill was around 170.
I don't think the chef deserves for the amazing food to be let down by poor wine service and lack of customer skills from the manager. The manager sent the waitress over with the 2 off gesture rather than come over himself after we'd spoken to him.
A real shame.

I worked in this pub on and off during the 80's. It was a terrific pub then. Landlords name was Jamie Ramselle. Locals were a great bunch. Glad to see it hasn't changed.

My local and fav pub of the moment. Great for a drink with friends but mainly good for a meal. Great original food, great wine at a good price. Friendly atmosphere.

This was my first time here and it's already my regular!
It is under new management - so if you haven't been there recently please pay them a visit, you will definitely be pleasantly surprised.
The food was absolutely amazing! The best Sunday roast that I've had in a long, long time and words can't describe the banoffi pie! Also, an excellent wine list!
The staff are really friendly and the decor is lovely - big leather couches, exposed brick work, bright and cosy conservatory restaurant and a large sunny beer garden - a thoroughly great place to spend a Sunday afternoon.

Now under new management and definately worth checking out, great atmosphere, amazing back bar. The restaurant is destined for great things, check it out before it gets too busy!

Heard its changed hands & had a revamp. Simon says I should go there, well he does know the new owner. Nephron I think your Canadian barmaid once lived in Southfields & her dad is called Les.

This is no longer a pub as such. Has recently been converted to a restaurant/bar. No Football means I will only be visiting on rare occasions. Gorgeous blonde Canadian barmaid is the best thing about the Jolly Gardeners these days.

nice area, quiet pub, i figured this might be a good one. early on i thought this would be a nice boozer- BUT beware, all went swimmingly until the landlord introduced himself- awful manners about him, rude, arrogant and bullish. AVOID THIS BAR, a shame cos nice settings but wasted on a $%^*& like that! sadly...

Excellent pub. The first I have found in London that I could easily visit every day. Friendly staff, comfy environment. Barmaid unsure of how to pour guinness but can easily be forgiven for being cute.

Can't believe have lived here for 3 yrs and just discovered this little gem. Had a bite to eat, a fab glass of wine and good natter with my friends whilst lounging on one of the the sofa's in the conservatory! Best seen at night so that the Med style garden can be appreciated!Wandsworth's best kept secret!

Good local pub, friendly staff, large consrvatory/ back room, garden, wholesome food. The only snag is that the real ales can be a bit dodgy.
