This is now the West End Brewery. Despite being only around 15 minutes walk from Leicester City's football ground, it was fairly quiet. So perhaps word hasn't got round about this place yet. It brews its own beer on the premises and the barman was formerly at the Criterion. The ground floor is fairly spacious, with plenty of seating. Toilets were downstairs. Two of their own ales were on - Mild & IPA, in addition to Hart No. 3 Ruby, Tres Bien Parakeet & Gwynt y Ddraig Ancient Warrior was dispensed from a box on the bar. Well worth a visit.

this is one of the better bars along the trendy braunstone gate. serves a huge range of spirits and continental beers. Also has live music on most evenings. run by the same people who have the Rutland & Derby.

Was rather underimpressed. Crowded, uncomfortable, found a perch eventually downstairs but it was claustrophobic. Kept getting jostled which really pisses me off. Enormous range of spirits which could have kept me amused all night, but not cheap. Soon moved on to more congenial quarters in the city.

Crap cocktails, that's for sure. Good range of spirits and imported lagers, ale selection poor. Can have good live acts on. An odd place, that is not entirely conducive to relaxing drinking.

I found my visit very pleasent, live music free on a friday night is a real a plus and with a huge range of drinks to choose from I can`t think of anything better!

Very elitist and not very comfortable. An old clientel, nothing special on the cocktail menu and far too expensive. What are you paying for? A "try-too-hard" interior and dirty facilities? Grossly unimpressed.

Run by the same people as the also excellent Rutland and Derby in the city centre, this pleasant pub on the fashionable Braunstone Gate is a real find. Excellent range of drinks, particularly imported lagers, a late licence, and live music regularly, all add to a good all round drinking hole.
