Lovely vintage pub. No craft beers but decent enough for a visit.

Track and Trace precautions in place on a recent visit. I ordered as I walked in the pub and paid (via card) then sat in the rear beer garden where a pleasant barmaid brought my pint to me. There seemed to be four ales on tap. A pleasant experience.

Much improved on the ale front - the Peerless Red IPA being the best of the four ales on. The pub is a mix of sandstone columns and beams and is a few minutes away from West Kirby station.

Went in here at 9pm last Saturday night. Less than half full but a quiet, pleasant atmosphere. Four ales available - Courage Directors, Black Sheep Bitter, Brimstage Scarecrow and Clarkes Traditional. Tried the Scarecrow and it was a nice well kept pint.
|
Traditional pub with a warm atmosphere and a selection of 4 ales - Courage Directors, Black Sheep Best, Fullers ESB & Moorhouses Black Cat. The landlord and locals appeared fairly friendly. A proper pub. But sadly not as busy as the nearby Wetherspoons.

Called in on Friday before Bank Holiday. I have to say the Peerless Red Rocks was superb, only problem it ran out. What a brill pub with an excellent beer garden, certainly the best in West Kirby.

After quaffing several pints in the Moby Dick and the Ring 'O Bells we sauntered down a pathway past the beautiful church. This led us to a quite magical park. We came out almost opposite the White Lion Inn. We had been there once before, and it was exactly the same as it should be. Being a fine Good Friday, we took our ale and cider to the garden where we found many others taking advantage of the fine weather. It's moments like that that make you feel glad to be alive. I'll tell tell you we supped some good beer in West Kirby and we'll be back.

expensive went there last night at dead on 11 told RUDELY no more will not go there again

I met a mate here this afternoon and this time we sat inside this small pub. There were a few mainly elderly customers. A pleasant place for a chat. The quiet background music wasn't intrusive. I enjoyed four pints of Brimstage 'Trappers Hat' and my mate had four pints of St Austell 'Tribute'. I will return.

I had a very acceptable pint of Young's Bitter here this afternoon. The other ale available was Black Sheep. I sat in the rear beer garden (which is about five times the size of the pub) in lovely sunshine and enjoyed my drink.
|
Small traditional pub that doesn't take many people to make it crowded. Several real ales.
|
Nice little pub with brasses on sandstone walls, split leve with the bar at the back. Quite on a Friday night at 7:30 when we called but the beer was good.
