Visited here last wednesday Lunchtime (First stop of a Pub crawl of Christchurch). Proper Pub with two separate Bars, I opted for the smaller which was full of locals and families going about the daily routine. Nice to see! Ringwood Best and London Pride was available, opted for Ringwood Best which was very good. Background Music was playing at a level that you did not have to shout over. Recommended if you are in the area or waiting for a train!

Just spent Saturday evening and Sunday lunchtime there.
It's just how a good pub should be and Jim and Steph make wonderful, kind and friendly hosts.

That's odd - the landlord doesn't smoke! Glad you enjoyed your visit never the less.

Despite being asked to wait for the landlord to finish his fag in the beer garden before being served "you can waIt boys" one friendly local advised, we found this to be a great place to start our day. Good, well kept ales, London Pride and Ringwood Best on tap. Locals friendly enough, decent beer garden would recommend for a quick one.

If you like a well run tradition wet led local then a trip to the Railway is just the ticket. Ringwood ales, Old Rosie cider, Kronenbourg 1664 & San Miguel etc. All kept immaculately. Traditional public and saloon bar set up, somewhat dated decor but clean as a whistle as are the toilets.
If you're looking for food go elsewhere as it's not what this little gem is about, but if good beer and cider served well and with a smile in a proper local boozer floats your boat then a visit to the Railway is a must if you find yourself in Christchurch.

Stopped in here cycling from Beer to Whiteparish in Wiltshire yesterday. It had been pissing it down all day and the three of us were soaked to the skin and freezing cold. Thankfully a warm fire and pints of Ringwood sorted us out as the locals gently took the mick out of our cycling kit and advised us on our route for the afternoon. Food came in the form of crisps and pickled eggs and the Ringwood bitter was in good nick too. Top class little boozer with friendly staff and locals; an absolute gem of a pub.

I hadn't been in here for well over a year. Still much as I remember it, and the Ringwood Best was excellent.

The dog has calmed down, and enjoys lying by the fire, Ringwood Best and St Austel Tribute on in fine form.
|
Still a good traditional pub, now serving food according to the sign outside, now has an annoying litle dog running around. Dog and food!?
|
No need for the air con now. Also, it's easy to get a seat inside as all the usual crowd are outside, puffing away. Ringwood Best continues to be superb.

a good pint, but its a shame its so stuffy and smokey in there.gey some air con

The Railway is on my Friday night circuit. Always a warm welcome, and the Ringwood Best is excellent.

I often find that pubs adjacent to a railway station feel that they don't have to make the effort presumably because of their location. Happy to report that this friendly, two bar little pub is the exception to the rule. Excellent pint of Ringwood Best was served on my last visit.
