Spotted this pub whilst out for a Sunday walk. It is absolutely lovely. We were welcomed by a pleasant barman, friendly patrons, a roaring fire and very nice beer. Loved the background music (mostly 1970's). We didn't eat this visit but will definitely be back to try out the food. I wish this was my 'local'. Charming.

Avoid. This pub is "family friendly" which translates as having spoilt shrill toddlers rushing around the bar area. Add this to the eye-watering price of the drinks and you have two reasons to drive on.

A Fuller's pub in the middle of the country is always a touch anachronistic to me, surely the word Fuller's belongs in a town.
We arrived at bang on midday so in we went. Unsurprisingly the place was empty and it pretty much stayed that way throughout lunchtime. There is a set of photos on the wall showing the damage caused by the fire a few years back so you know that the low beams and country pub feel are a deliberate act.
Food was OK. I had S&K Pudding which came with mash and veg and was pretty much what I was expecting. My friend's fish and chips boasted a very large piece of fish, but unfortunately the chips were really french fries - a common problem this - I'm sure some people don't know there's a difference. Reasonably priced - my pudding was £10.
Beer was Fullers - the usual suspects plus Jack Frost winter ale. We plumped for this and it was good - it should be at £3.85 per pint ! This does seem a little steep - still paying for the fire repairs maybe?
A reasonable pub, beer prices apart.

Definitely don't stop off here unless you have deep pockets. The drinks prices are at least 20% above the going rate locally. I drank the guest ale Beartown from cheshire and the first one was cloudy which suggests the pipes had not been cleared. Food O.K., at least you know the food prices before you order.

The family and I went for a lunch time meal and drink here ,during the Easter break.
The welcome was warm from the landlord and bar staff, and the service was prompt and polite . Food was pretty good quality and helpings more than ample (I don't think anyone left hungry ). The London pride was in pretty good condition and went down very well.On the whole a very pleasant couple of hours spent here .Maybe a bit on the pricey side but well worth a visit .

Stopped in here recently on the suggestion of a friend. Nice quaint looking pub although apparently a fraud, as the original burnt down and was rebuilt in a retro style some years ago.
Service from the young barman only average to be honest, but the Fullers ESB was in good condition and the food was excellent. I would go as far as to say some of the best food I have had when eating out recently in terms of quality and value. The waitress was better than the barman at service.
Worth a visit, would be even better if they could improve the initial service

The outside is a lovely-looking old thatched cottage. The inside is all low beams (one of them has been given a foam cladding to stop anyone over 5ft bashing their heads on it) and country pub dining ambience rules the day.
Have been in a couple of times and had mixed experiences.
First visit found some decent Fuller's beer including a guest (Elgood's Cambridge) in good nick. Enjoyed my brief stay.
Second visit found only two of the Fuller's on, in variable condition. Landlady seemed miffed to be pouring two halves of each for my friend and I - not exactly a great attitude given that there were only 3 other customers.
A potential gem that's lost it's lustre a bit with me.
