Quite a good little place for a 'Spoons. Beers were in good nick and pleasant staff - even on a busy Saturday night. The London Pride was the best I've had in a long while.

Superb range of beers. Service is slow and would be improved with an additional member of staff at peak times. Tim Martin, the Chairman of Weatherspoons, lives in Exeter and could improve his profit by fixing this problem.

A bit more 'upmarket' than the normal Wetherspoons - both the beer and the food are a bit more expensive than you'd expect. This doesn't deter the sort of seasoned topers which you tend to find in all Wetherspoons, although there are probably a few less than normal. Fortunately, there are plenty of places (such as upstairs) where you can get away from them.
The beer which I drank on Boxing Day was pleasant but way too cold - if there had been a microwave behind the bar, I'd have asked them to put in in it for 20 seconds or so, to bring it up to the right temperature, so that I could taste it. Shame, because it's probably the most pleasant Wetherspoons in Exeter, otherwise.

It's a 'spoons. Expect the 'spoons experience, which has it's well-known ups and downs. On average, the best of the 'spoons in Exeter.

A plus for this one is the pair of balconies that most people don't bother with, meaning there's usually a quieter corner available. Fewer of the usual 'residential drinkers' than normal too.

You can't fault the look of the building but this is actually more of a hinderence. There is no atmoshere whatsoever and it dosen't suit wetherspoons at all. Getting served in here is very frustrating at times, not enough staff and people ordering coffees (i thought this was a pub!).
The beer garden is ok for a city centre pub so a 6/10 from me, mainly for the creative design of the building.

The building is certainly unique but is spoilt by the fact it is a Wetherspoons pub. Unlike most JDW's , the clientele was mixed from OAP to groups of yummy mummies catching up for coffee with their toddlers. Very friendly in that sense and a change from the usual "refuge of the street drinker" that most JDW have become. Good range of local beers on offer and service ws quicker then the reviews below suggest. Would pop back in if in the area but would not go out of my way.

this isn't a bad pub , not a bad choice beers climate change from the teignworth brewery . headstrong and 44 from blackauwton brewery , not the most classy joint in the world , but bar staff friendly , would use often if living in the area , note for tourists , disabled friendly . 8/10

Certainly an experience inside - especially from upstairs - worth a visit

The quieter spoons in Exeter (maybe due to the nature of the building). Slow service but in part due to coffee orders. local beers in evidence.

Popped in 4 first time in ages last week. Still a great looking building, reasonably fast service and a lovely well kept pint of O Hanlons Dry Stout was enjoyed, 8/10

Took nearly 15 minutes to get served drinks when only a couple of people stood at the bar, but when we ordered food later the service was extemely quick. Great building with the original stained glass windows and a pulpit dominating one end.

Great pub. What a Weatherspoons should be.
Beer selection was good, but service can be a little slow. The food is excellent, when I have eaten at lunch time. But havnt tried the evening yet.
Just enjoy a decent pint looking at the great building.

Brought friends here last Thurs for the Curry Club. Tried to order at 17.45 only to be told they did not have any of the curry we all wanted. They only started serving at 15.00 so couldnt have run out. Really spoilt the evening

If there's a better Wetherspoons in the UK then I have yet to find it. The building is a conversion of a Methodist chapel and all of the original features have been retained, some even roped off to preserve them. There is an incredibly welcoming atmosphere to this place and kudos to the managers, it is run very well. Always an interesting selection of real ales which are kept very well. The food is of the usual Wetherspoons standard but that's to be expected. There are also a couple of large screen TVs which is unusual for a JDs but they are kept in the back section of the pub and they never seem to have any sound, so don't cause any disturbance. Also a pleasant outdoor seating area.

What a great place. Its an old chapel and it has retained some of its old charm. Food ok but the chips were luke warm, otherwise it would have scored 10

It's a wetherspoons pub but once your in it feels nothing lick a wetherspoons it's more posher, it's non-smoking which is good so you don't come out smelling like a ash tray...
