This pub was closed (as in totally boarded up) when we visited Watchet in Dec/ January 2014-15.

It's a good while since we visited here, but I remember it as a good haven for a tired and hungry tourist.

this was full of youngsters, definatly a pub for the locals, had a pint and came out because I felt uncomfortable, they also need to open the curtains so people can see in. !!!
|
Very scruffy place which we had to force ourselves into to sample their ales. Wells Bombardier was indifferent, the other pump turned round - one of the few pubs not to offer local beer in the area. I'm sure this might appeal to people who like to get totally "out of it" with loud music and rubbish lager.

I suppose I should mention that it still manages to hang on to 2nd place though in the Watchet Pub League Table.

2 years later I return and I'm trying to remember what I ever saw in the place.
Music was far too loud. Blasting shitty dance music at 5:30 on a weekday?
|
Down to earth, but friendly mob of working class boozers.
|
2nd best pub in Watchet. Perhaps a bit short in the selection of cask ales, but lots of friendly regulars in old pub.
