not good. went in for some food. walked to the bar to be met by an unsmiling barman. we asked if they were doing food and he just grunted at us so we didn't bother. no atmosphere, nearly empty apart from the 'interesting' local talking about how violent he could get when he drinks.

As ever a basic pub that is dominated by traditional pub games ( datrs, pool etc.) In season the opening hours are really stupid, shutting in the afternoons. Not much trade here as people do not want to be moved on for their afternoon beer,so they go elsewhere, rather sad.

Untouched town centre boozer and all the better for that. Ale is well served and pub very welcoming. Please never change this gem Mr Palmer!

Went here on Halloween, have to say i was impressed, and i hate karaoke!!! The two bar staff were polite and friendly. Beer was fine, if expensive. But the nice touch was the barmaid offering me a 'trick or treat' and then proffering a bucket full of sweeties! They even went to the effort of making jelly shots. Every effort was being made, and i was very impressed!

Been using this pub since the previous owners left. Always felt welcome, eventhough I only visit the area 4/5 times a year. pity the local brewery are so greedy. A pint cost more in Bridport than it dose in London, but thats not the pubs fault.

Sad that Ken has retired, the present lot are clueless. The pub itself is nice but not worth a visit.

Lovely little proper pub with beer in great condition. And they had a real cider on as well. Very traditional sort of place.

Very clean and tidy. Fantastic Palmers usually I do NOT rate Palmers but this year is a vintage year ( that is if I can use a pompous word like vintage ).The newish management have branched out into hot food, it is very cheap and worth trying. There is no listing for the Tiger It is located in barrack street , walk out of the Nelson cross the road and it is in the street opposite on the right. the tiger has everything a great garden Sky Sportsand five great real ales to choose from.

well, Ken has indeed gone, a fine landlord , he has been replaced by a younger guy called Keith. The place is perfectly spotless, the beer is unbelievably good.A real shock to see a great pub step up a notch !

Ken has left, I really do wonder what i will find ?

Please leave untouched - this is an example of what Bridport pubs were all like. Shame it sells the local indifferent beer but you can't have everything!

Despite the fact that it sells (ugh) the local brew, a great town centre boozer. No frills. Friendly. Shame it's not a free house!
