24th August 2019. Afternoon pint, lovely beer, friendly staff, great view. Bitter £2 a pint.

If you like cask ale, don't bother calling here - it's all keg. Keep walking down the hill to the Bull's Head or the Ring o'Bells.

Have been back to this pub several times now, always a friendly welcome always toasty warm now with coal and log fires. Lovely pint of OBB, Stout and Mild. There is now a quiz on a Tuesday Night from about 8:30. Great views from the front benches out from Frodsham Hill. Only opens from 3:oo pm during the week at the moment but I understand that the new landlords who has been there for a few months and really cleaned up the pub are hoping to open earlier soon and also serve tea and coffees for the the non alcohol drinkers and maybe some lunchtime snacks if the brewery allow, I will keep you posted. Brilliant Pub now, a bit off the beaten track but well worth a visit.

Found this pub after recomendation of a friend. Great Pub high on the hill over Frodsham, fantastic views, lovely beer garden, friendly management, brilliant prices and good beer and larger. Well worth a visit opens from 3 in the week and from 1 at the weekends with a quiz on Tuesday night. Great atmosphere no TV or music but plenty of chat and its on the Sandstone Trail, good parking. Will be back soon.

I also visited this establishment one lunchtime just as it began to pour down with rain. The lights were on and the door was slightly ajar so I assumed it was open for business. The licensee was inside talking to somebody so I entered and asked: "Are you open?" "No!" he barked, "That's why the door's shut!" "Well it wasn't very well shut," I remarked, seeing as I'd only pushed it open gently. "It was! he growled. I left and also walked down the hill to the Ring O' Bells. The landlord is clearly a graduate of 'The Bazil Fawlty School of Licensed Victuallers'.

Tried to slip in for a quick pint today but a person inside - presumably the landlord, in a somewhat brusque and rather rude manner, I thought, informed us that they were closed.
So I can't make any comment about the beer.
As this pub is apparently closed for business on Monday lunchtimes I would recommend strolling down the hill to the Ring O' Bells in Overton village. Excellent ale and wholesome, low cost food.
