Went in today and met the most miserable unwelcoming bar man that could be possible to meet. No hello. Stared at by bar man rather than simple words like "Yes please", or "What can I get for you" Asked for a pint and he poured it, placing it half a mile away from where I was stood and then put he's hand out . You know, I'm thinking maybe he didn't have a working voice , or speak English. And his facial muscles that control the part of the face that offer a smile must have not been working too. I won't hurry back. Every pub I popped into had a steady crowd in except this one. Now it is plainly obvious why. The lager on the other hand was fine . There were five real ales available priced between £3.30 and £3.90. The latter being a little steep for a freehouse, perhaps bordering on greed.

best pub i have been in
|
The beer here is good with a reasonable selection. Reasonable prices. Comfortable surroundings.

Best selection of real ales for many a mile and they're all very well kept by the "guvnor" who clearly knows his trade and also employs cheerful, friendly bar staff. Very convivial atmosphere and excellent conversation. Well maintained pub and a must if you want an excellent pint - or several.
