Up for auction shown as, 'vacant with freehold possession', so presumably the pub is closed.
Perhaps this is the first pub in the town to go following the opening of a Whetherspoons just around the corner.
Future uncertain.

Watched a bit of Rugby in here with a pint of Doom Bar. Bit overcrowded because of the rugby, and I've had a better pint.

popped in for a visit a while back as i know from previous visits they do guest cask ale. i wasn't disappointed with the Bass...truly a delicious pint at a good price 2.60 but there was no other ale on offer!! the grey haired fellow (the 'friendly' lanlord?)) behind the bar was clueless and not altogether friendly. strange chap. seems a shame that this once great local boozer is heading for the tubes....

This is a friendly family pub where children and dogs are welcome. Good home-cooked food is served from 10.00am till 9.00pm either in the bar or upstairs in the refurbished non smoking 'Fireplace Restaurant'. There are always at least 3 real ales on and usually up to two additional guest ales, with a good choice of lagers for the non real ale drinkers!
