Not good anymore all the locals have gone just caters for the cheap food. Out of date spirits being served. Cold and smelly inside

Nice atmosphere in a very traditional looking pub. Sadly the ales are rather bland and often sulphurous (Wadworth beers are not that good these days) and the landlord rarely gets any decent guest ales in. Food is mediocre.
The best thing about this pub is that the background music is on very low even at weekends, so you can actually have a conversation.

Great friendly pub, that serves a great pint of Heineken, with good wines also. They have nice garden, that is lovely in the sunshine. The food is ok, always good, but wouldn't go there for a romantic or special evening to eat! This is over all, a nice pub that is hidden out of the way... 7/10

Good friendly Pub with an open fire in the winter! Well kept beer and very good food! The accomodation is good and the Breakfast unbelivable!

What a lovely, traditional, cared-for pub. Fine wines and ales, great atmosphere. Just like sitting in somebody's comfortable front room without feeling like an intruder. Outside seating in the summer is OK too. Will give the food a try soon and report back.

Sunday carvery well below par - fatty meat, stodgy yorkshire puds. Pork crackling failed abysmally to crackle, leaving a nasty slop of sub-cutaneous gloop on plate. As for those buttered carrots - sorry guys, caremalised taste not pleasant! Background musak totally unnecessary.
Watch for ticking off if your children stray into bar area. OK, so there's a no kids policy, but brusque reactions not very endearing. Particularly when you've spent upwards of a hundred quid over lunch. Kids are relegated to the dining room or the patio area (perfectly comfortable with its garden centre display feel). Other pubs in vicinity are a bit more kid friendly.
Interior has a nice feel, settees and casual seating creating a relaxed ambience.
Interesting selection of Wadworths and other local(?) beers. But on a warm warm day, beer also served too warm.
Overall, decent place for drink. Obviously keen to cultivate adult clientele, which is OK and keeps it oik-free. But too many restrictions on kids means it's not really a relaxed family option.

Although it can sometimes feel like you're sitting in someone's front room, this is a little gem of a pub with well kept Wadworths ales and good food. Friendly staff and locals add up to a convivial atmosphere.
