Hardly a pub, and the previous comments dating from 8-9 years ago still ring true, as a student bar also frequented by locals would sum the proceedings up nicely. That said, a surprisingly good pint of Marstons New World chimed in at a mere £2 and service was on the prompt side, even though there would be little to warrant a prolonged stay.

Used to be a reasonable student boozer, a bit like a bar in Amsterdam. But has changed owner and now appears to attract a weird mixture of students and the local lowlife. Avoid.

Bright yellow pub popular with students. Good for watching football. Occasionally some friction between the townies and the students, but generally a nice place.

A pub full of friendly locals and students. 2 a pint for any draught and spirits quite cheap too. Have enjoyed many nights down here, although the juke box is a bit passed it but they have Sky and show a mixture of sports. Not bad for apub which looks like a shop on the outside!

Also, they no longer do the 1 a pint nights.

The bar staff are pleasant and try hard.
VERY, VERY studenty though, if you hadn't already guessed by the location.

Depends what youre after really, if you want a quiet pint of real beer, then don't go to the Bat! But if you want to get involved in the cheap lager, and have a laugh then do! Fantastic student drinking hole, 1 a pint on Tues & Thurs, Im sure you can imagine!
