Just over one year on and I paid a return visit to the Dyvel's Inn. A welcome sight this time was an open pub with plenty of people in the garden. I can now give the pub a more realistic score. However a similar set of pub crawlers along the railway line to those I'd just met in the Wellington at Riding Mill awaited. On entering, I noticed a couple of young lads squaring up to one another in the garden. This appears to be a peaceful place normally, with the feel of a village pub inside. The ale selection was also decent, with Wychwood Hobgoblin Gold & Small World Thunderbridge Stout available. Old Rosie was also on for cider drinkers. My stout was delicious. I could sit back and watch the entertainment unfold as one guy made an appearance covered in blood. I wouldn't let this put you off though. You have to look beyond these anomalies and my firm belief is that this is a good place. Having visited two other pubs in the town last year, I also think it's easily the best pub in Corbridge.

The Dyvels Inn is on the station side of the river. But unfortunately it is currently closed for refurbishment. 0/10 as no beer available at present.

Pleasant beer garden, seems to be family-oriented. Decent beer.

Great pub, but wish they would turn the TV off. 4 real ales all in good condition and a nice beer garden. Not sure if you need the TV on all the time.. ?
Bar staff very friendly and welcoming. They even encourage punters to recommend real ales to sell as guests.. ideal for beer bores such as myself.

Pity about the limited beer selection but enjoyed the Jennings Cumberland Ale (Deuchars and Spitfire also available). Local sausage from Acomb with bubble and squeak (high class version!) in a lovely gravy set me up a treat. Just near the station so a rail trail possible with Wylam!

Food and beer excellent on my visit a few years ago. Handy for the station too.

Nice pub this one, particularly in the summer, as they have a big beer garden. they've got a wide selection of ales, and a decent pool table (albeit with a bit of a lean). It's very close to the train station, good if you live in Hexham for example. AND, most importantly, they sell scampi fries.

My wife and I had dinner and a pint at Dyvel's, and both were pleasant and served quickly. The owners are a very nice family who also run a hotel above the pub, but the place feels very much like a local's local (the conversation around the pub that evening revolved around recent floods in the area and another pub in town that's a friendly rival of the Dyvel's).
The pints were in good condition--nothing stunning, but they did have several hand-pull options available. If you're in the area and can find the place (it's a bit out of the center of town, near the train station, as the street name implies), it's worth stopping in.
