Been taken over by new management. A lot nicer pub to be in. Its clean, offers food and has a good atmosphere. Looks like there is lots of entertainment at weekends and always seems busy.

had a new coat of paint, two real ales, sky and thia food ok but not cheap

Dirty run down pub, poor beer and one to avoid

So glad that they advertised that they accept all people with tracksuit bottoms, and work gear. At long last there is somewhere that these people can drink without having to come into the Cricketers making it look untidy.

Well established roadside pub on the old A2 in Rainham. Some attempt has been made it make it look and feel modern inside, which contrasts with the exterior. Popular with young lads. Nothing special, but a decent enough place.

A very average pub which, considering the location and history of the building, should be a great deal better than it is.
Not exactly the most welcome of places. Myself and a couple of friends were the only customers apart from an elderly couple in the corner. The landlord was very gruff and Phil Mitchell-esque - he took no pleasure in the money we were spending or the fact that we were even there.
In these times where we are paying 3.00 a pint as opposed to 60p a can from a supermarket or 2.10 at the nearest Wetherspoons, impoliteness at the mere thought of having to serve paying customers is not only unacceptable but downright insulting.
Apart from him, the beer was good if a little unimaginitive, the clientele were friendly and it's generally a nice pub, hopefully under new management soon.

I have heard that Kim from the Crix is now working here. If she is then you lot are very lucky! Good bar staff can make a pub, and she is one of the best and a favourite of the Kent Beer Boys. Not only is she a good laugh, hard-working and friendly but she is also rather tasty!
Like I say she is a favoutite of the boys. She is badly missed in the crix especially when Spurs are playing.

Cute bar staff.
I could eat her all night.
Quite a few young knobs drink here though.
But other than that,nice pub

Used to work in Rainham post office for nearly ten years, had many a laugh in this place. We used to have our Xmas dinner here... such a great laugh! Terry was the landlord back then, I had a bit of fling with his daughter Lesley when we were both seperated. never forgot those times. Anyone here remember Lacky or the infamous Bendy Bill?? Real proper drinkers.. The Green Lion was a legend, no real pubs exist like that anymore in Rainham... still life moves on!

The pub was almost opposite Ivey Street, and very close to the church. I believe there was a fire at some point, in the laterpart of the 80's Or 90's. It was renovated and I believe at that time still named The Green Lion. As far as I know it was the only pub in all of england called the Green Lion. My family used to run the pub in the mid 50's and I am interested in some news about the place. Thank you.
