Pretty awful weathered looking place right by the sea.

Tack, rundown and looks like it has given up.

If this place were on an estate it would be closed down by now.

3/10

Do not eat here. Lovely setting but we just assumed with the expensive prices it would be quality and/or home cooked food. But it was catering packed food. One of us had beef n ale pie. It was tough, heavy shortcrust pastry - I think a cheap pie from Iceland would've been a lot nicer. We had 3 different meals and they were all the same poor quality for high prices. Bar staff were friendly though. In future we will always ask if the food is home cooked!

A dire pub for a dire place. I thought Dymchurch in Kent was deadly dull, but this place is worse. Sad looking pub overlooking the bay. Should be a lovely pub - sadly not.

Visited here just before Easter in glorious weather. We used this pub for a sundowner on serveral occasions and found the service and beer (Exmoor Ale) to be very good and friendly. Great to sit outside and watch the tide come in and out.

Can't think why anyone would consider returning to this pub. We went in earlyish (6:00) on a quiet Monday evening and the barmaid couldn't even be bothered to look up from her crossword. When we were served, our glasses were dirty - my wife's still had lipstick marks from the previous user. The food was average, with several items 'off' - one of which was listed on the specials board. Don't bother - go over the road to the Royal Marine or the Dolphin - altogether much better welcomes, food and beer.

Located right on the beach, the Focsle is nearly surrounded by outdoor seating and remains the ideal spot for lepers to enjoy a few tabs with their beer.
Beer was alright, only one left on draught was Exmoor and it went down without a hitch.
The bar is a child-free zone but the adjoining restaurant lets the little nippers enjoy everything with chips.

Nice beer. Good helpful staff. Food looked good but didn't try any.
