Country pub with 2 rooms and some friendly customers. The beer wasn't the best though. The selection was Bowman Swift One& Quiver Bitter, Harvey's Sussex Best Bitter & Young's Bitter. The bar area looked very festive, with a large Christmas tree.

Had a very good Sunday lunch at this attractively simply furnished pub. The food is certainly expensive but was good quality. Everyone enjoyed their roasts and my stilton ploughmans was also high quality and filling. The beer selection is good and the service was pleasant.

This is a very good pub with food, and has been since long before the term 'gastro-pub' was invented. You may need to book to eat there, either near the bar or in the restaurant or, on hot days (remember those) in a large garden. The food is simply very good: varied, good helpings, friendly service, not too expensive. Lots of beers on tap, and a wide selection of wines, not to mention a log fire for days like yesterday.
Well done to all the staff for maintaining such a high standard.

Fine over-smartened old pub, good ale and food (though not cheap) huge garden, near Goodwood so posh locals and visitors make this an aspirational flavoured drinking-sub-gastro joint

Found this to be a friendly pub with a good atmosphere. Beer was good although did not try food sure this would be too.
Will definitely be visiting here again soon.

Always 4 real ales on, 2 regular + 2 regularly changing guests from local breweries. Beer always in excellent condition. Food really good too, but not the cheapest. Staff friendly.

On our visit on Saturday afternoon, the staff were friendly, the atmosphere in the pub was nice and the food they served was good, if a bit on the pricy side.

Not a bad place, but overpriced and the customers are not friendly at all Instead they are very pretentious, and undeservedly so. The conversation seems to be centred on bullshit, and the claims some of the regulars make about their financial means are laughably ridiculous.

Very expensive beer and when I went in, not very friendly staff!

Roger Jackson - the man with the midas touch - runs this roadside pub with welcoming open fire, sheltered back garden, excellent food and at least 3 ales on the pump.
