Pleasant enough but nothing special.

Called in here first on Boxing Day morning, as it opens at 9am! The place seemed more like an old peoples' home than a hotel bar, with quite a few seniors enjoying breakfast. Beers were all from the Marstons range - Banks's Bitter, Marstons Pedigree & Wychwood Hobgoblin. Service was friendly. Not the best of places. But it served a purpose early in the morning.

Walked in and it was full of screaming kids, piles of plates and glasses on tables and bored looking staff, we walked straight back out again.
Might be nice on other occasions.

Food good, hotel clean, but was not happy with attitude of one member of bar staff, thinking he was mister big ,passing comments to other staff members of staff regarding customers,i know i was one of them on the 6th Sep 09 and was not happy with this member of staff. I have since contacted the Bold expressing my feelings on the matter.

4 Cask ales in excellent condition.Happy hour makes it definitely the place to go on any afternoon after 2.00 (not Friday to Monday)and any evening except Friday and Saturday. Look out for Lisa behind the bar though. Excellent food from an extensive menu.

A dredfull place with the smell of bacon of the bar staff.

Whenever in the town of my birth, we inevitably eat at least one meal at "The Bold". The food is very good and payable and the range of beers just all that one could want
Very nice carpeted lounge bar in the hotel reception room
