Sadly this place now appears to be closed. A shame in my opinion.

Like other reviewers, I had previously not been drawn to this place on the assumption that it would be a real ale free zone. However a friend of mine persuaded me to enter and I was pleasantly surprised to discover a selection of real ales to choose from, and not just the usual "safe" options either. Not what you would call a traditional boozer, but the kind of respectable place you could take your other half and still get to enjoy a pint of the good stuff. I don't recall the pricing being above average for the city centre.

A good range of Danish bottled beers - the real ale range tonight was not as good as previous posters have found - initially Landlord and Bombardier but by 8pm just the Bombardier (OK).

An odd place this: A Danish-themed bar. Didn't seem very Danish to me, and the service at the bar was bloody awful. 5 Ales were on though, which very much took me by surprise and I had two really very good pints of Thwaites Wainwright at 2.90 (I think). Not really my sort of place but adequate nonetheless.

This place isn't really a pub, it's not really a wine bar either. It's like being in a cafe in Ikea. However it usually has 5 real ales on tap and serves a pretty decent pint of them as well. It also has a good selection of wine. It's a big place but it still gets full. OK to call in for one but I wouldn't want to spend all night here.

Expensive but good.

Nearly didn't bother going in as the cafe bar style seemed to indicate a cask ale free zone, but I was pleasantly surprised. There were 4 or 5 real ales on - the Timothy Taylor Landlord we tried was well kept. The food here looks lovely but sadly we didn't have time to sample any.

Weird place for beer scoopers, but the best steak sandwich I've ever tasted, and the only time I've seen Tetley Imperial in cask form.

Good selection of usual and guest beers. Nice atmosphere for a city centre bar (trainers allowed too). Lots of seating.
