Despite the huge road signs which state "great food" and open all day, both are false. We arrived ready for a nice meal but then told "we don''t do food". If that''s the case stop misleading the public! The place was completely empty which isn''t a surprise, you can''t run an establishment like that and not do food, makes no business sense at all. It wont last long if it continues not to serve food, and take the bloody signs down!

Was walking by; had intended to pop in. Turned out they don't want passers by only having a pint; we take up valuable space that more profitable diners might use. You can guess the score they get...

Had an excellent lunch with my parents. Very friendly welcome and waiting staff, food was plentiful, tasty and excellent value for money. Greene King IPA in excellent condition, thoroughly nice experience.

Returned to this pub for dinner and had great food at a reasonable price. Good choice on the menu and nice seated area in conservatory overlooking the beer garden. Would return here for food and drink. Because of this I have raised my original rating from 7 to 8.

Only popped in for a quick pint and sat in the beer garden. Seems like a nice pub, beer was good and restaurant looked nice, will give it a go next time.

After a long walk i was very pleasant to find, quite by chance, this pleasant village pub. The reception was typical of this part of Kent - warm, friendly and welcoming. I enjoyed a superb pint of Rother Valley "Summertime Blues" and followed it up with some local cider, complemented beautifully by the chat with the bar staff.
An oasis in the cultural desert that is Lydd and one well worth stopping at.

First visit, clean pub, friendly staff. Only problem was pint was in poor condition, tasted slightly vinegary. In fairness to the staff, barrel was taken off straight after my pint. I'm sure if i had said something it would have been changes, having never tried that beer before i wasn't sure if it was supposed to taste that way. Driving so couldn't try an alternative, will try again when next in the area!!

Pleasant country pub overlooking fields of sheep. Range of beers is mainly main regionals.

Classic marsh/country pub. Dates from 1689 when it was two farm cottages. Lovely summer garden. As a visitor cyclist I was made exceptionally welcome by very friendly, cheerful bar staff. Good Sunday roast but also full menu of home cooked food available. Great beer range - Whitstable brewery bitter and Taylor's Landlord in fine condition. Not to be missed.
