A lovely cosy Sam Smiths pub and the ale remains £2 a pint. Remains along with the Market Tavern and Black Horse as one of the few good traditional pubs in downtown Preston.

The Olde Blue Bell was my last pub in Preston before taking the train home. It's a Sam Smiths pub with a nice, traditional interior. One main room wraps around the bar, with a real fire at the rear. There is a separate room at the front. Old Brewery Bitter is available on handpull.

Old style pub Sam Smiths bitter at £2 a pint. found the locals a bit miserable on this visit though.

Nearly twenty years since I was last in here. Great Sam Smith's pub with a good range of the brewery's beers. The Old Brewery Bitter was in excellent condition. A proper locals pub just at the edge of the city centre. Well worth a visit. 8/10.

Hope this very pleasant, amiable pub is still doing as well as I recall.
Many an excellent pint of Sam Smith's, many laughs, and excellent conversation enjoyed here, when we should have been working.
Those were the days.

Good place I remember it well, might even pay a return visit....and go to the BH as well

Best pub in Preston by some way (imo the only rival for this title is the Black Horse). As it's a Sam Smith's pub the beer is excellent and very very well priced (1.42 I think). Although this is a 'local' pub it also feels welcoming enough, and isn't full of young squawking yobs like a lot of city centre drinking holes are in Preston.

A great 'local' on the edge of the city centre

This is the best pub in Preston TOWN centre imo - good beer, friendly atmosphere, interesting (fairly unchanged) decor. Even the seedy-ish toilets are cool. Cosy seating areas, lots of standing room & very easy going.

Why has nobody reviewed this excellent pub? The beer is the cheapest, and the best, in the City.It is one of the last town centre 'locals'in Preston-and a'moron free zone'.
