Place has been closed for years and by the sounds of it a good job too.

If you like empty pubs this is the place to go. It's in a good location for a pub, pity it isn't a good pub.

"and used to drink here long before I did" - Wow. You got some sort of time machine? "..there are the occasional idiots that go there but isn't that the same for any pub?" - No, not really. And even if it was, then some pubs get more than others and the Cornerhouse gets a lot. Or used too. I haven't been there for a while I must admit. "and as for the baseball caps - well there not aloud for security reasons" - does that mean you can wear quiet baseball caps? You know, like.. tasteful ones?

I used to work here, and used to drink here long before I did. Yes, there are the occasional idiots that go there but isn't that the same for any pub? and as for the baseball caps - well there not aloud for security reasons, are you sure you were in the right pub Dave? Anyway, it's a great pub for a girlie or lads night out. Resident DJ, reasonable priced drinks, great atmosphere and in the centre of town - beauty!

Im sorry but I have to agree with John,Unless your idea of a good night is to get your beer spilt by a loudmouthed, baseball capped chav, then avoid at all costs. It has a good carpark outside though but I guess that doesnt really count!

I work here! I am not common or a janner, i dont wear gold and drive a nova either! We do get a load of 'orrible kevvy gits i agree but all in all the majority of people who come to the corner house end up having a good time. The staff are great and i love working here :-) as for the fact 'it smells'and looks a bit of a state....well we are having a refurb!!!! watch this space :-)

This pub does not even have mirrors in the toilet, shiny tin plates make a poor substitute. It smells and looks undesirable and is inhabited by characters that would be more at home in Lord of the Rings.....The Janners.

We have really got to come up with a name for pubs of this style. The pub that probably popped up in the ealry 80's, with a total disregard for aesthetic sensibility. They're mostly shit (Jack Stamps, The Unity) but occasionally succeed despite their ugly facade (The Endurance). This falls in with the former. Balls. Good for: Janners, Janners and more Janners.
