Visited yesterday after walking from Tadmarton to Milcombe and back in an effort to support a rural pub which possibly had little custom pre-COVID and even less now. Whilst service was friendly and the Sunday roast plentiful and tasty (without being fancy), the limited menu and the fact that all drinks were bottled/canned (and pricey) gave me the general impression that this pub is struggling. The proliferation of baubles and other "interior design items" was eclectic and the antisemitic customer at a nearby 3 (or 4) household table (inside) would do better to stay in lockdown permanently and drink his cans of Carling at home.

Was passing today, the doors were open and a warm welcome.
Served a good pint of Hook Norton.

I used to live in the net village, I still visit when in the area. It is always well run pub.
Countrypubgoer must have just gone on a bad day, it is well worth a visit.

Lovely Welcome. Friendly guests and atmosphere. Could not fault the accomodation or rates. Definately a place to stay again :) Worth a visit.

oh dear - landlord and landlady have ruined what could be a nice country pub. don't be fooled by the location and look on the outside. Cold, unfriendly, badly managed, no customer service- they give the impression they don't want any customers. Avoid. Just keep on driving is my advice. Unless it changes hands that is..
